ROUTE 33 was formed initially by Jeff & Alex , who shared a love of 60s music. The first gig was in 2012 and the band has continued to play Pop & rock music since inception. The current line up is as follows. Gary rhythm guitar & vocals, Alex Bass guitar, Jeff Lead Guitar & Phil on drums. We have played a number of gigs for charities and in 2023 we started performing for local pubs and clubs. We are available for hire for Dances, parties, etc.
Here's a Medley of our day at the studio.

Gary Bought his first guitar at 18 in Japan when he was in the navy. he quickly realized it was all upside down & backwards. After turning all the strings around it finally started to make sense.
I have always loved listening to wide variety of music. When I listened I always seemed to imagine a “missing line” playing in the music. I have always loved listening to wide variety of music. When I listened I always seemed to imagine a “missing line” playing in the music. I played some acoustic and later electric guitar for quite a few years before I ever picked up an electric bass guitar. However, as soon as I did I knew I has discovered that “missing line”. Bass players will know exactly what I mean! Jeff and I shared the same musical tastes and decided to form a band to play the music we liked. We recently discussed this decision and agreed it was one of our best. Of course we enjoyed playing the music, but forming the band has also taken us on such an interesting journey with some great mates.
I was very keen to learn to play guitar as a teenager, loving the Shadows, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. I formed a band in my teens with friends and gigged regularly playing rhythm guitar. I was very keen to learn to play guitar as a teenager, loving the Shadows, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. I formed a band in my teens with friends and gigged regularly playing rhythm guitar. I remember virtually getting the sack from my job, because of tiredness after playing late nights. Fortunately, I was immediately employed by a company who actually owned my previous employer. I continued to play guitar after the group folded. In 2010 after a discussion with Alex, our bass player, we formed a band with a desire to play 60s styled music. There have been several changes in the bands line-up since then but I do believe that the current line up is the best that we have had.
I have been playing for many years now, working with a number of local bands on the club circuit and joined Route 33 through Alex who I knew through work. I particularly like the variety of music that we play , from much loved one hit wonders that no body else covers to major hits all from the eclectic worlds of Country , Rock and Roll , and classic Pop. 🥁
